Since its founding two decades ago, the Charles Hamilton Houston Institute for Race & Justice at Harvard Law School has addressed the evolving challenges of pursuing racial equality and justice and maintaining a functioning multiracial democracy in a world that is often hostile to these pursuits. As intended by founder Prof. Charles Ogletree, Jr. and continuing under the leadership of Prof. Guy-Uriel Charles, the Houston Institute serves as an incubator of innovative and pragmatic ideas to advance racial justice in the 21st century.
Though housed at Harvard Law School, the Houston Institute must raise its own funds for overhead (e.g., staff salaries and benefits, office space, administrative support) and programmatic activities (e.g., events, research, litigation & advocacy) through generous support from foundation partners and individual donors.
Your support enables us to carry out timely research; connect scholars, practitioners, and communities; host convenings and programs; engage in litigation and advocacy through our Racial Justice Clinic; and train students to become the next generation of changemakers.
