The Houston Institute is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a gala event at the Howard Theatre in Washington, DC on Thursday, October 9th. The evening will consist of a reception, dinner, video presentation, entertainment by smooth jazz and R&B artist Vivian Male, and an awards ceremony for several individuals — including Attorney General Eric Holder, Mary Frances Berry, Alan Haymon, Antonia Hern√°ndez, and the late John Payton — who have exemplified the courage and commitment to equal opportunity of Charles Hamilton Houston.

This event will be the Houston Institute’s first major fundraiser. Sponsors include: WilmerHale, Major League Baseball, Bloomingdale’s/Macy’s, American Express, PepsiCo, BET, and several individuals.

We still have a limited number of individual seats available for this evening, for $250.00 per person. We will make these seats available on a first come, first serve basis. If you would like to purchase a seat, please visit our registration website. You will be given the option of paying by credit card or by check.

Please join us on October 9th in Washington DC at the Howard Theatre as we celebrate, look back and lean forward, and honor those who have shown courage and commitment to the cause of equality and justice.
