We are pleased to join the Unitarian Universalist Urban Ministry in sponsoring an event honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Please join us for a 2:00 pm screening of the film, The Letter, about a controversy over newly arriving Somali refugees in a small city in Maine. The film will be followed by a panel discussion, moderated by the Urban Ministry’s Sam Williams, featuring:
- Miriam Gas, Executive Director, Refugee Immigration Center
- Abdulkadir Hussein, Executive Director, African Community Economic Development of New England (ACEDONE)
- Ron Marlow, Assistant Secretary for Access and Opportunity in the Patrick administration and others.
Following a light supper, the event will continue with an evening of entertainment featuring a variety of performance groups, including: the Boston Community Choir, Peter Terry, the First Parish in Concord Children’s Choir, Fred Woodard, poet Regie Gibson, Barry Gaither, the Spiritual Life Dancers and Erica Vigeland.
