Redirecting the School-to-Prison Pipeline: Building Futures, Not Prisons, Part II: Addressing School Discipline Issues

The first “Building Futures, Not Prisons” gathering provided an overview of the School-to-Prison Pipeline. This follow-up event will focus on models for revising school discipline policies, implementing restorative justice practices, and collaboration.

A panel discussion will be followed by an interactive multi-stake problemsolving session on school discipline challenges. Panelists include:

  • Ricardo Martinez, Padres & Jovenes Unidos
  • Marlies Spanjaard, The EdLaw Project/Youth Advocacy Project & the Children’s Law Center of Massachusetts
  • Headmaster Winston Cox, Social Justice Academy
  • The Honorable Jay D. Blitzman, Middlesex Juvenile Court
