Houston Institute files brief to preserve remedies for employment discrimination

Joined by the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under the Law of the Boston Bar Association, Gay and Lesbian Advocates and Defenders (GLAD), Greater Boston Legal Services, the Chelsea Collaborative, Jewish Alliance for Law and Social Action, Massachusetts Employment Lawyers Association, and Massachusetts Law Reform Institute, this week the Houston Institute filed a brief in the case of Everett v. The 357 Corp. & Trans-Lease Group before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.

Through our research and litigation, CHHIRJ addresses issues of disparity and racial justice, both on the national and local levels. It is of critical importance to CHHIRJ’s work that civil rights laws designed to eradicate discrimination remain vital remedial tools, available to all who need them.
