Alongside economic self-sufficiency, the other theme that the mayor keeps coming back to is co-governance…. “The idea is that the people retain power, which the government responds to. So that the residents control the city…”
The vision here is resonant with the notion of Community Justice, centering around a “People’s Assembly” convened quarterly as “an opportunity for the community to critique and inform their elected officials.”
