This project was created in 2016 by Sherrill Roland to highlight and challenge the prejudices people harbor against the incarcerated, symbolized by the orange jumpsuit. The project:
…challenges ideas around mass incarceration and works to generate a safe space to process, question and share…[and provide] a window into the lives that have been impacted by incarceration.
Roland has taken the project to venues across the country since its founding.
